The City of West Hollywood is actively seeking a skilled and dynamic Budget Officer to join our team in the Office of the City Manager. In this essential role, you will collaborate closely with the City's management team to develop and monitor the City's operating and capital budget. This position also staffs and supports key initiatives, programs, and projects that advance our City's Strategic Plan, Community Safety & Well-Being Strategy, and Operating & Capital Work Plans.
The ideal candidate possesses:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field; Master’s degree in related field is preferable; and, four to five years of progressively responsible related experience; or, any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

- Extensive experience in preparing and administering operating and capital budgets within a municipal government or a similar public agency setting.
- A comprehensive understanding of budgetary processes and principles.
- Effective communication to meaningfully engage with a diverse body of elected and appointed officials, City employees, and community members.
- The ability to conduct thorough analyses and utilize exceptional writing skills.
- Exceptional project management skills.
- Proficiency in using budget preparation software such as ClearGov or similar tools.
