The City of Tracy Development Services department is currently seeking a motivated and qualified individual to join their team in the Building Safety Division. This is a management classification responsible for planning, organizing, reviewing, and evaluating all Building Safety Division activities, including building inspection, plans examination, permit processing, and code compliance. The ideal candidate for this position would be one who thoroughly understands the implications of life and safety in the application of the building codes, is committed to championing safety in the built environment, and yet is resourceful and helpful to the building industry in finding creative administrative solutions to the problems that invariably surface during construction project processing, plan review or inspection services. The ideal candidate shall also be a strong team leader who will take the lead in both the technical and personal development of individual staff members and be organized and progressive to set and meet both long-term and short-term divisional and departmental objectives.
