Base Salary: $123,741.86 - $173,255.59 Annually, plus benefits
Under the direction of the Assistant County Executive Officer (Chief of Staff), leads, manages, and supervises the Fiscal and Administrative Unit of the County Executive Office, represents the agency in budgetary, fiscal, personnel, and administrative responsibilities, performs staff assistance to the director, and performs related work as required. The incumbent will be required to be actively involved in the same type of work and activities they lead. They will exhibit a “hands- on” approach and spend time interacting directly with their employees and working on similar tasks.
The ideal candidate will have exemplary leadership skills required to develop, coach, empower, motivate, and manage staff, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, be a seasoned budget and management professional, and have experience supervising and leading staff engaged in a broad scope of fiscal, personnel, administrative and budget program functions. Excellent customer service and the ability to work with tact and diplomacy, with a diverse group of employees that includes members of the Board of Supervisors, support staff, and special committees is an essential part of the position. The ability to anticipate problems and develop proactive solutions, provide positive leadership through staff development, foster teamwork, demonstrate a strong work ethic, and collaboration among staff and County departments is vital.
The CEO, Director of Fiscal and Administrative Services (Deputy Executive Officer) is an at-will position which is exempt from the provisions of the Civil Service Ordinance.
Qualifications can be obtained by completion of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field AND five (5) years of professional accounting, auditing, or financial management experience including supervisory/management responsibilities over unit/division operations.
DESIRED:
• A Master's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field; OR
• A California Certified Public Accountant license.
