The City is seeking a forward-facing, professional expert in the management of municipal functions and city administration to serve as its next City Manager. The ideal candidate is a patient, empathetic leader who will guide and inspire staff by fostering a positive, mission-driven environment across all City departments. The new City Manager will be an effective and engaging communicator with the ability to coach and mentor staff by modeling best practices in recruiting, training, professional development, and succession planning. Qualified candidates possess a bachelor’s degree in public administration, business, or a related field and substantial management, supervisory, or administrative experience, preferably in local government or public agencies. A master’s degree in public administration, business, or a related field and substantial experience in a senior management position working in local government or public agencies is preferred. Candidates must possess and maintain a valid Nevada Class C driver’s license within thirty (30) days of hire as well as possess and maintain the Incident Command System (ICS) 300/400 within six (6) months of hire. Candidate must establish his or her residence within the City within 90 days after his or her appointment. He or she must reside in the City during his or her term of office.
The annual salary range for the City Manager is $195,478 to $293,238; placement within this range is dependent on qualifications and experience.
