The Code Enforcement Officer helps promote and maintain a safe and desirable community in which to live and work by working collaboratively with other agencies, businesses, and residents to correct identified violations of various City, State and Federal codes. The position requires an extensive knowledge and experience investigating potential violations, the maintenance of meticulous records, and understanding of legal requirements for obtaining evidence in support of potential code violations.
An ideal Code Enforcement Officer is a highly organized, independent person with a keen understanding of and commitment to accuracy, details, transparency, fairness, objectivity and customer service; has excellent record-keeping and research capabilities; has a high level of emotional intelligence to successfully interact with the members of the public in stressful circumstances; possesses sound judgment and an ability to work effectively under pressure; and has a strong understanding of local government operations, procedures and code interpretation. Salary range for this position is $31.67/hr - $38.49/hr with an excellent benefit package.
