CONTRACT COORDINATOR
(Landscape Maintenance Oversight, Field Inspection and Contract Administrator)
$48,876.00 - $65,544.00 Annually
The Salary Range Will Increase As Follows:
Effective the first full pay period in July 2023, a 3.5% increase.
The City of Oceanside is accepting applications for current and future vacancies for the position of Contract Coordinator. There is currently one vacancy in the Public Works Department - Property Management.
This position provides direct oversight and monitoring of the landscape maintenance contractor for the Eleven Landscape Maintenance Districts within the City. The incumbent will be responsible for reviewing maintenance schedules, field inspections throughout the Districts to ensure contract compliance, field verification of work completed for all invoices submitted by contractor, inspection of irrigation valves and controllers as needed, and daily review of the maintenance areas within the Districts. It is highly desirable that the incumbent for this position have a general understanding of landscape maintenance and operations in order to effectively manage the contractor and respond to needs and concerns of the public.
The incumbent will also be responsible for the review and payment of invoices, holding weekly meetings with contractor, managing budgets for all Districts, dealing with the public, and corresponding with the contractor and the public on a daily basis. This position will perform administrative duties; therefore, proficiency utilizing Word, Excel, and Outlook are highly desirable. The ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize workload is advantageous for success. This position requires the ability to walk for prolonged periods of time.
Qualified candidates must possess Two years of increasingly responsible administrative experience, including one year of program and/or contract responsibility and the equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by college level course work in public administration or a related field.
