The City of Cupertino (population 60,000) is located against the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains at the west end of world-famous Silicon Valley, 42 miles south of San Francisco. A general law city, Cupertino is supported by 220 full-time staff and a FY2022-23 budget of $130.6 million (General Fund $95.2 million).
The Deputy City Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing public information, environmental sustainability, emergency management, and economic development programs for the City and will provide professional assistance to the City Manager, City Council and other team members.
The ideal candidate will bring exceptional project management skills with a history of delivering on priority projects and initiatives. Cupertino is seeking a collaborative and adaptive professional who is familiar with current technology and efficient business practices in local government and enjoys working in a dynamic environment. Along with having a bachelor’s degree, competitive candidates will be public sector professionals who are generalists with at least five (5) years of relevant experience that includes managing workgroups across diverse subject matters.
