The County of Sonoma County Administrator's Office seeks an energetic, customer focused, and solution-oriented local government executive to serve as a leader on their dynamic, professional team. The Deputy County Administrator plays a critical role, assisting the Assistant County Administrator in addressing the County's budget and fiscal issues. This position serves as lead to the Budget and Operations teams, and functions as the County's Budget Officer. As a key member of the team, the Deputy County Administrator also plays an integral role in directing and coordinating the delivery of County services. The County Administrator's Office and the position of Deputy County Administrator are guided by the Board of Supervisors broad mission, carrying out the Board's policy goals by directing and coordinating the operations of the County's departments and agencies.
The ideal candidate for this position will possess:
A degree in public or business administration, management, finance, economics, or accounting
A minimum of six years of progressively responsible administration or fiscal analysis experience in a private or governmental agency
Exceptional leadership and management skills, including experience supervising individuals engaged in complex professional analytical work
Experience representing agencies before members of the public and other organizations
Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to draft reports and press releases, and present persuasive and compelling arguments before advisory boards, governing bodies, etc.
The proven ability to create and maintain effective working relationships with other governmental and regulatory agencies to coordinate matters of mutual concern
