Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) is a voter-approved passenger rail and bike-pedestrian pathway project located in Marin and Sonoma Counties in Northern California. We are seeking a Deputy District Counsel to assist in building a first-class public service. Under direction of the General Counsel, this position presents SMART in complex legal matters, performs research and serves as counsel in cases in the areas of labor, contract, civil and administrative law.
Minimum Qualifications
Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited law school.
Five years of increasingly responsible experience in a public agency or private law firm.
Current membership in the California State Bar.
Other Qualifications:
Experience in a government or public agency preferred.
Experience in a California transit or rail transit agency desired.
Salary Range: $119,995 to $150,010 annual.
