Salary: $160,540 - $193,579, Yearly*
The County of Sonoma seeks an exceptional and collaborative leader to become the next Director of Emergency Management.
The Director of Emergency Management is responsible for the accomplishment of the Emergency Management Department’s mission and objectives, and provides leadership, plans, coordinates, and manages the County’s emergency management program. Reporting to the County Administrator, who serves as the County’s Emergency Director during a declared emergency, the Director of Emergency Management is responsible for ensuring emergency systems, processes, and protocols are in place for the full range of emergencies and disasters that could impact Sonoma County, as well as promoting public awareness and preparedness for emergencies and disasters.
To be considered for this position minimum qualifications must be demonstrated. Most typically, a qualified candidate will possess at least five years of experience leading, managing and coordinating a governmental civil defense, disaster, and/or emergency management program and a bachelor’s degree in emergency management, public safety, business or public administration, or a closely related field.
