The County of Marin seeks a Director of Finance (Director) to lead the County’s Department of Finance and serve as the County’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with fiduciary responsibility of all funds in the County treasury. This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative leader, as the County has a AAA bond rating, well-established reserves, and GFOA awards. The Director will oversee 62 staff (Treasury, Investments, Accounting, Property Tax, Public Administrator, and Finance), a budget of approximately $6.1 million, and several upcoming initiatives. They will have the opportunity to further develop their team, especially in the areas of auditing and payroll. The next Director will be a good listener, communicator, and overall leader and will inspire their team to provide excellent customer service and support a high-performing department. Ideally, they will have a CPA background and effectively lead and mentor technical units. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
