Director of Financial Services
Annual Salary: $119,465 – $152,474

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The City of Madera is looking for a collaborative Director of Financial Services with excellent leadership and communication skills to be part of its management team. Reporting directly to the City Manager, the Director of Financial Services is a key, at will department head position that accepts full responsibility for the City’s utility billing, business licensing, general accounting, expenditure controls, purchasing, grants administration, and maintenance of the City’s investment portfolio. The City follows the principle of continuous improvement, and the new director will have the opportunity to enhance in-formation sharing related to financial data, as well as oversee the expenditures and accounting of significant funds related to the COVID pandemic.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience/Education: 5 years of broad and extensive experience in professional government accounting, including at least 3 as a supervisor or manager. A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or Public Administration is required.
Licenses/Certifications: Valid Class C California Drivers License. CPA designation is preferred but not required.
