The City of Huntington Beach is located in northwestern Orange County 35 miles southeast of Los Angeles and 90 miles northwest of San Diego. This full-service municipality is supported by over 989 FTE, approximately 500 part-time employees, and a General Fund budget of $269 million ($532 million all funds). Supporting the OneHB Mission and the City’s Core Values, the Human Resources Department currently has 13 FTE and 3 part-time team members organized across four business units.
The ideal candidate is an exceptional HR leader with a demonstrated passion for engaging staff, helping others succeed, and promoting a culture of learning and high performance. An energetic and positive mindset will be well-received as the Director actively supports the organization's unique people-centric culture.
Education and/or experience equivalent to five years of professional-level human resources management and a Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or public administration or a related field. Public sector experience in a large municipal agency and a Master’s degree is desirable.
