The City of Vallejo is located in Solano County and has a population of approximately 121,000 residents. Under general supervision of the Assistant City Manager, the Economic Development Director manages the operations of the Economic Development Department, including the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities. The Economic Development Director coordinates assigned activities with other City Departments and outside agencies and provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the City Manager’s Office, Economic Development Commission, and City Council. The City of Vallejo is seeking an experienced, innovative, and enthusiastic professional to serve as the new Economic Development Director. The City is looking for someone who can individually advance economic development in the city as well as provide leadership and direction for the Economic Development Department, including developing, implementing, and administering effective and efficient economic development, redevelopment, and asset management services. The ideal candidate is excited about working with the local community and regional stakeholders to improve the quality of life in Vallejo and possesses the ability to create and implement effective strategies and programs and select, supervise, mentor, train, direct, delegate to, and evaluate staff.

The annual salary range for the Economic Development Director is $171,381 to $208,315 with a 5% cost-of-living increase in July 2025; placement within this range is dependent on qualifications and experience.
