Description:
San Joaquin County is seeking dynamic individuals to join a progressive, public service employer. Our Capital Projects and Public Works Department are filling multiple positions, which will be filled at either the Engineer I, Engineer II, Engineer III or Engineer IV level depending on applicant qualifications.

While the Engineer I, II and Engineer III are unlicensed, and the Engineer IV is licensed, all levels perform professional field and office engineering work in the planning, engineering and management of Division projects and programs, while providing professional engineering judgment on projects and studies, and may supervise engineering staff.

Qualifications:

Valid California driver’s license.

Engineer I: Ability to obtain a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or closely related field from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology within the one-year probationary period; OR a certificate as an Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) as issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.

Engineer II: Two years of progressively responsible and varied civil engineering experience; and either 1. Possession of a valid Engineer-in-Training certificate as issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors; OR 2. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or closely related field from an ABET-accredited college or university

Engineer III: Four years of progressively responsible and varied civil engineering experience equivalent to Engineer I in San Joaquin County; and a valid Engineer-in-Training certificate as issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.

Engineer IV: Valid certification of registration as a Civil or Traffic Engineer issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
