This is an executive opportunity in the Finance Department Office. This Finance Director position is responsible for overseeing a variety of core financial functions such as budgeting, accounting, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, purchasing, general services and overall financial responsibility for the City. The successful candidate will supervise four highly productive full-time employees within the finance department. The Finance Director will coordinate, prioritize, and implement the City's finance, budget initiatives that are consistent with the resources and strategic goals of the City. In addition, the position will serve in the capacity of a working supervisor.
The Finance Director must be a strong collaborative partner and respected leader with executive level skills in strategic visioning, innovation, problem solving, decision-making, implementation of financial plans, financial acuity, negotiation, motivation, public speaking, resource allocation, and achievement of broad organizational goals and objectives. The Finance Director has responsibility for creating, modifying, presenting and explaining City Financial programs, policies and services. The incumbent must have past experience that delineates an advanced level of understanding and performance in areas that include financial, municipal operations, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external clients.
