Under general direction, the Financial Systems Analyst (FSA) performs advanced-level professional accounting work in the areas of payroll, accounts payable, and budget reporting, as well as project management and production support expertise to the County’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Tyler Munis. The FSA is responsible for end-user business solutions and systems administration functions, including configuration and analysis of data to ensure system accuracy and functionality necessary for the maintenance and enhancement of data systems specific to Department of Finance operations and the County’s financial needs. The FSA also prepares a variety of narrative and statistical reports and makes presentations to peers, County employees, and County Management teams.

The highly qualified candidate possesses an in-depth knowledge of the principles of data processing and the application of all aspects of accounting, payroll, and financial management information systems. Solid business acumen, a strong results orientation, and exceptional communication skills are a must, as is an ability to effectively adapt to change. The successful candidate has experience working with, using, and/or implementing enterprise resource planning systems or other financial software applications and understands the importance of organizational change management. In addition, the highly qualified candidate is organized, dependable, and flexible; customer-focused; a strategic/critical thinker who proactively recommends changes to policies, procedures, and technology solutions; independently seeks opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement; functions well in support of a team; and thrives working in a fast-paced, progressive organization.

We recognize your time is valuable, so please do not apply if you do not have at least the following required minimum qualifications: any five-year combination of recent professional experience and relevant coursework in both computer science and accounting, accounts payable, and/or payroll that demonstrates the necessary knowledge and abilities. A typical way of achieving these requirements would be graduation with a bachelor's degree from an accredited program in accounting, finance, computer science or a related field and one year of full-time experience related to the work.
  • Required educational experience is interchangeable with full-time related professional experience up to a limit of four years.
  • Internships completed in conjunction with coursework are excluded from being credited towards work experience, if they are counted towards educational requirements.
  • Recent experience is defined as experience gained, in part, in the last five years, or longer if technically relevant.
  • Candidates selected are subject to a background check.
