Are you an experienced grants professional who has a passion for protecting and preserving open space? Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (Midpen) has an excellent opportunity for a 2-year limited term grants professional with federal, state, and local grants experience to apply their expertise towards funding high priority, regionally valuable open space projects. About the Position: Qualified candidates have knowledge and experience submitting federal applications for the district’s emergency response efforts, managing federal reimbursement procedures, and ensuring compliance with all federal regulations and documentation requirements under the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA); provide recommendations for program adjustments; coordinate site visits with FEMA; and support other new grant applications and reimbursements as needed.
The ideal candidate will:
communicate and collaborate closely with other departments to complete project reporting requirements for grant-funded work,
maintain excellent communications with external agencies,
prepare and present clear and concise oral and written communications to senior staff, the Board of Directors and the public,
support project staff in the use of grant funding on budget while remaining flexible as priorities shift,
maintain well-organized and complete grant file documentation,
build trust with peers, funders, project partners, and Midpen leadership.

Work Environment: Midpen offers a hybrid office/telecommute work schedule for this position.
Education and Experience: We realize your time is valuable, so please apply only if you have at least the required minimum qualifications outlined here: any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
Management Analyst I: equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in business administration, public administration, or a related field and one (1) year of responsible analytical experience.
Management Analyst II: equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in business administration, public administration or a related field, and three (3) years of professional analytical experience.
Advanced knowledge of processes related to requesting reimbursement for eligible expenses under the FEMA program is highly desirable. Public sector experience is preferred.
Midpen determines hiring level depending on qualifications and is seeking to hire at the Grants Management Analyst II level.
Licenses & Certifications Required: Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.
Annual Salary:
Management Analyst I Annual Pay Range: $92,768-$115,829
Management Analyst II Annual Pay Range: $102,258 - $127,707
(3% cost of living increase is pending Board approval)
