Independent Performance Auditor

The San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) Board of Directors is seeking a proactive, dedicated, and experienced Independent Performance Auditor (IPA) to serve in this newly created position that will work directly with and support the Audit Committee as well as the Board of Directors. The IPA will oversee and conduct a full range of audits, examinations, and reviews of programs, functions, operations, management systems, and procedures. The IPA will assess if the agency is achieving economy, efficiency, and effectiveness in the full use of resources, as well as review compliance with the agency’s administrative policies, procedures, and regulations. This position will establish appropriate resources and staffing levels, budget allocations for resources and activities, and will continuously monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures.

A Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree preferred. Ten years of experience performing audits in the areas of administration, operations, finance, performance, and/or management, including five years of management and supervisory experience. Possession of a CPA and/or CIA certificate or license is required. The annual salary range is up to $196,180 DOQ. Excellent benefits package including CalPERS retirement.
