The City of Monrovia is looking for a unique individual to serve as our next Public Works Management Analyst / Senior Management Analyst. Our Public Works Department is in the midst of a departmental review to reorganize the way that we coordinate our work. As a full service operation, the selected candidate will be joining a leadership team responsible for serving our people in the coordination of a full suite of public works related functions, including engineering / capital project delivery, permitting, water utility operations, field maintenance services, facility maintenance, and sewer maintenance.
The successful candidate will also have to be comfortable integrating into a unique workplace culture that places tremendous value and importance on teamwork. To that end, we expect our team members to serve with humility, by demonstrating high emotional intelligence and the capacity to place the success of the team ahead of their own individual ambitions. This position will assist in a variety of projects, programs and operational functions including, but not limited to:

Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge, abilities and skills is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the qualifications would be:
MANAGEMENT ANALYST
BA/BS in public administration, business administration or related field and one (1) year experience in administrative analysis and budgeting. Master’s Degree and bilingual skills desirable.
SENIOR MANAGEMENT ANALYST
BA/BS in public administration, business administration or related field and three (3) years’ experience in administrative analysis and budgeting. Master’s degree and bilingual skills desirable.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE
Possession of a valid Class C California Driver’s License and a good driving record.

- Assist with / oversee contract management and procurement processes
- Provide complex administrative and technical support to the City’s robust capital improvement program
- Prepare and deliver requisite reports for the City Council
- Actively participate with complex projects related to Monrovia Renewal
- Assist with facilitating the repair and construction of public spaces including, but not limited to: roads, water, sewer, and facilities
- Manage grant funds and associated projects
- Provide financial management support and budget monitoring
