Under the administrative direction of the City Manager, to plan, organize, direct, and supervise the City's parks and recreation services, facilities and programs including Rohner Park, Newburg Park, Depot Museum, Monday Club, Chamber of Commerce grounds, and River Lodge Conference Center. Manage facilities such as roadway medians, low impact design basins, pocket parks, and city property beautification and responsible for the development and control of parks and recreation budgets. Pursue grants and other funding opportunities for parks, recreation and transit from outside sources and manage and maintain the Fortuna Depot Museum in conjunction with the Historical Society. Supervise and administer the operation of Fortuna’s public transit system, assist with implementation of employee safety training program, provide highly-responsible and complex administrative support and advice regarding parks and recreation services to the Parks and Recreation Commission, Historical Commission, City Manager, City Council and others. Develop, receive, and transmit community input on parks and recreation services; and to do related work as required.
