The City of San Leandro is a well-established community of approximately 90,000 residents and is one of the most diverse cities in the Bay Area. San Leandro Police Department (SLPD) is supported by 135 authorized positions (90 sworn) and a FY22-23 budget of $46.5 million.
SLPD seeks experienced supervisors/managers who are well-versed in contemporary policing practices and aligned with the Department’s core values. Ideal candidates must display exceptional interpersonal skills and offer proven success in engaging, partnering, and interacting with diverse populations in an urban environment. Requires a minimum of two years of experience as a Police Sergeant in a California municipal PD. Ideal candidates will have extensive supervisory experience at this rank or above and offer a broad array of assignments. High school diploma/GED and 60 college (semester) units or a POST Advanced Certificate required. Bachelor’s degree highly desirable.
