The City of Watsonville is seeking a seasoned, solutions-driven, and collaborative Principal Engineer to lead its public works development review and land use engineering functions. This critical role supports the City’s growth by overseeing a range of key initiatives, including development project review, roadway and stormwater infrastructure, and coordination of regional capital improvements. As development activity and available funding sources continue to expand, the Principal Engineer will provide leadership in reviewing plans, guiding infrastructure standards, and ensuring compliance with municipal codes and environmental regulations. The position supervises both internal staff and consultants while helping oversee a Capital Improvement Program (CIP) budget of approximately $65 million, playing a central role in delivering essential, community-serving infrastructure.
