Reporting to the Director of Community Development, the Public Works Operations Director is an at will department head position that accepts full responsibility for all activities and services of the City’s Public Works Department. This includes water distribution, water treatment, sewer collection, street lights, traffic signals, electrical systems, facilities, wastewater treatment, maintenance of streets & storm drainage systems, street sweeping, and oversight of the City’s municipal airport. The department also oversees the City’s contract for solid waste and recycling services. The City is looking for a proven leader with collaborative management skills as well as excellent communication skills to be part of its management team.
Experience: At least five years of broad and extensive experience in public works or related service delivery operations, including at least three years in a responsible management capacity.
Education: A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Public Administration, Facility Management or other related field.
License: A valid California driver’s license is required.
