Valley Water, one of the largest water utilities in the state of California and located in the South Bay Area, is seeking a REDI Manager to lead its Office of Racial Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion (REDI). Valley Water established this office as a clear signal of the organization’s commitment to fostering, promoting, and advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within Valley Water and environmental justice for the community they serve. The REDI Manager will drive strategic development and implementation of REDI programs, policies, and measurements, lead a team of three, and oversee an approximate budget of $1.5 million. They will partner with business units across the organization to implement the five-year DEI Strategic Master Plan and Equity Action Plans and drive organizational change and equitable service delivery to the community. THE JOB
This position is a unique role that works across the organization’s departments and divisions and throughout the community of Santa Clara County. The REDI Manager will drive strategic development and implementation of REDI programs, policies, and measurements, inform others and facilitate change, lead a team of three and an approximate budget of $1.5 million, and implement the 5-year DEI master plan and equity action plan and achieve their goals. This position reports to the Assistant Officer of External Affairs who provides general direction, guidance, and oversight of the REDI Office. As a public sector worker, the REDI Manager may serve in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) as part of the public information officer branch and/or as a Disaster Service Worker, when called upon.
