The City of West Hollywood (WeHo) is seeking a Rent Stabilization Manager to oversee critical efforts to preserve the affordability, availability, and inclusivity of housing! This Manager will oversee the Rent Stabilization Division’s 11 full-time staff members. They will play a pivotal role in overseeing the regulatory functions that ensure fair and equitable treatment within the City’s rental housing market. With a majority of residential units in the City falling under rent control ordinances, a background in navigating similar regulations is highly desired. They will also effectively staff the dedicated Rent Stabilization Commission, recognizing its importance in safeguarding the rights of both renters and landlords while mitigating legal liabilities. The successful candidate will engage in special projects aimed at improving quality of life for residents. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in municipal housing initiatives. With tenant protection being a critical priority, a thorough understanding of enforcing anti-harassment ordinances is crucial for creating a secure and respectful environment for renters, as well as a fair and equitable process for landlords. Additionally, the Manager will collaborate with the City Council, staff, and the broader community to develop housing policy, requiring familiarity with tenant regulatory requirements and policies.
