Your next exciting career opportunity awaits you!  The City of Tracy Finance department is seeking a highly qualified accountant to join our collaborative team as a Senior Accountant. The selected candidate will have a strong foundation in fund accounting, work well with our team of professionals, be able to mentor staff and have experience with complex ERP systems.  Tracy is a full-service municipality providing a vast array of services including police, parks & recreation, utilities, and mobility & housing. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in government finance and budgeting, including Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), Bond and Debt issuance, taxation and revenue collections, and related reporting and compliance requirements.  The primary responsibilities include analyzing accounts, preparing general journal entries, account reconciliation, leading financial audits, facilitating reports, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and preparing portions of the ACFR. In addition, the position assists with analyzing and strengthening internal controls, and developing financial procedures. The position necessitates a candidate skilled in delivering great customer service to internal and external customers with strong communication skills, both orally and in writing.
