SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER
City of San Rafael, California
Salary: $120,744 - $146,760 annually DOQ/DOE
The City of San Rafael seeks a Senior Civil Engineer who will help the City Engineer in managing and directing some of the City’s largest and most complex infrastructure projects. This individual will fulfill a critical senior position in the Department of Public Works where they will supervise the Capital Improvement Program’s other five engineers and project managers. In this supervisory role, you will serve as a technical advisor to professional engineering staff and oversee specialized engineering outcomes.

THE JOB
The individual in this role will work to plan, mentor staff, and perform professional engineering work in the design, construction, and review of all aspects of capital projects; including streets, city-owned property, drainage, and traffic projects and private construction. The Sr. Civil Engineer will manage construction projects and related consultants, along with the team of public works engineering staff.
BACKGROUND & EDUCATION:

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, and
- Five years of increasingly responsible post-degree engineering experience managing complex construction, maintenance, and/or traffic projects, and consultants.
- A master’s degree may substitute for one year of post degree engineering experience.
LICENSES:
- Registration as a Civil Engineer in the State of California or the ability to acquire registration within 12 months of hire
