Under general supervision, is responsible for maintaining, updating, and producing water facilities drawings; working on the Continuous Property Records (CPR) Program, and other assigned projects.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Assists the Associate Engineer with various water system design projects and contract administrative duties; maintains water system atlas map records; provides facility records support to operations and maintenance staff; performs utility research investigations as required; coordinates and develops CAD/GIS/SCADA programs; performs fire hydrant flow tests and maintains related records; coordinates and develops new database/filing systems for existing record drawings; establishes design and drafting standards for CAD-related work; assists with CPR Project; maintains CAD station, appurtenant equipment and related supplies; support other office and field staff on various special projects and assist with computer network administration.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience: Graduation from high school or equivalent. Four years of experience or education in related duties and responsibilities and working with advanced computer programs.
Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to use CAD, GIS, and SCADA systems; maintain cooperative working relationships with other City employees, officials and the public; make clear oral and written reports. Ability to lift 50 pounds; vision correctable to read small print; and hearing ability to understand verbal instructions; ability to drive a motor vehicle and travel considerable distances.
LICENSE: Possession of or the ability to obtain a valid Class C California drivers license.
