The City of Vacaville invites applications for the position of Senior Program Coordinator - Youth Development in our Police Department. Currently, one (1) full-time vacancy exists for this position. This recruitment will also establish an eligibility list for future full-time, part-time and limited-term vacancies in this classification that may occur over the next 12-month period. 

The Senior Program Coordinator - Youth Development in our Police Department plans, organizes and leads engaging activities and events that make a difference in youth development. They coordinate programs, train and supervise staff, and collaborate with schools, businesses and community groups to create impactful experiences. From outreach and marketing to program evaluation, this role offers variety and the opportunity to be creative in a leadership position. The Senior Program Coordinator - Youth Development drives our youth initiatives and helps shape the future of our youths in the community of Vacaville. 

 

Some duties of the Senior Program Coordinator in Youth Development are as follows:

  • Development and implementation of youth programming for kids 7-18 years old
  • Supervision of interns and volunteer staff
  • Organization, implementation, and participation in community outreach and public education activities
  • Coordination of large-scale community events such as Shop with a Cop, teen summits, etc.
  • Promote interaction and activities between Vacaville police officers and youth programs  



SALARY RANGE: Senior Program Coordinator - $62,183.14 -$75,584.42/Annually

ABOUT YOU

The ideal candidate for the Youth Development program area will possess the following skills, knowledge, and abilities:

  • Understanding principles of youth development
  • Equivalent to an Associate's degree in social services or other related field
  • Experience in working with diversion youth and families
  • Experience in planning, developing and conducting a variety of presentations and workshops focused on youth development
  • Skills in preparing and maintaining youth development program budgets
  • Experience providing supervision and direction to a team 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:
 

Education: Equivalent to an Associate's degree in business administration, public administration, marketing or a field related to the assigned program area. Completion of a Bachelor's degree is highly desirable.

Experience: Three years of increasingly responsible experience in the development and coordination of programs, activities and events. Experience in the assigned program area is highly desirable.

LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE

Select positions may require the possession of a valid California Class C driver's license and a satisfactory driving record as conditions of initial and continued employment.
