The City of Irvine seeks a highly motivated supervisor to supervise, coordinate, and participate in the work of five full-time accounting employees. The Supervisor of Accounting Services is responsible for overseeing and performing a wide-range of municipal accounting duties including General Ledger, accounts payable and receivable, special events, fixed assets, payroll, capital projects, special funds, grants administration, pension plans, and special project areas. This person will also implement document imaging and workflow processes, and maintain, test, and upgrade financial reporting systems.

- Strong organizational, leadership, and collaboration skills.
- Experience leading and supervising complex accounting functions and staff.
- Experience working with automated fiscal systems, preferably ONESolution (Central Square).
- Ability to utilize generally accepted accounting principles in context with a variety of financial projects.
- Experience with public sector retirement and/or post-employment benefit programs.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to provide high level customer service to internal and external individuals.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- Four years of government accounting experience, including at least two years in a supervisory capacity, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
