The County of Sonoma Transportation and Public Works Department is now hiring an experienced Traffic Signal Technician! Ideal candidates have experience:
Installing, repairing, and maintaining traffic signal equipment, including signal luminaries, flashing beacon systems, and radar feedback signs
Repairing, replacing, or modifying signal head components, microprocessors, relays, switches, fuses, and controller cabinet parts
Locating and marking field signals, lighting and beacon systems, and underground infrastructure for the Underground Service Alert (USA) Program
Digging trenches, pouring foundations, pulling wire, and installing pull boxes and conduit
Estimating time, materials, and equipment necessary for successful project completion
Inspecting and testing contractor installed equipment
Investigating and responding to complaints, and after-hours, night, and weekend signal issues
Maintaining accurate work records; ordering supplies, parts, and materials
Qualifications for this position include training and four years of experience in a municipal setting maintaining and repairing electrical traffic control devices.
