The City of Ventura’s Parks and Recreation Department has an immediate vacancy for the position of Urban Beautification Crew Leadworker.

Reporting to the Parks Beautification & Maintenance (BAM) Supervisor, the Urban Beautification Crew Leadworker is a "working" lead position, responsible for the work prioritization and assignments of Parks Division Urban Beautification Crew Workers.  With responsibility for providing training to crew and improving work methods and procedures, this leadworker also assigns work orders, coordinates on call schedules, and ensures crew safety at all times while staff is involved in the care, maintenance, and upkeep of public areas such as parks, beaches, sidewalks, street medians, homeless encampments, and other City maintained areas.  In addition, the Urban Beautification Crew Leadworker leads the daily inspections of locations throughout the City and reports homeless or related activities to law enforcement.

Work hours vary depending upon the time of the year and may include weekends, afternoons, nights and/or holidays. 

Incumbent may be required to work stand-by on rotational basis and report to work on a callback basis as needed within a designated time frame.  Standby assignment is at the discretion of the Division Manager.

 
Position Qualifications

A combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to three years of experience comparable to an Urban Beautification Crew Worker II in the City of Ventura.

License:  Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California driver license with an acceptable driving record.

Salary and Benefits

The City offers a compensation package that includes both a generous salary and excellent benefits!

Salary: $25.15 - $30.57 Hourly DOQ
