The City of Ventura Parks & Recreation Department is looking for two Urban Beautification Crew Workers I/II. We are seeking candidates who enjoy working to keep the City clean and excel in an environment of team work with enthusiasm.

The Urban Beautification Crew Worker I/II performs manual work in the care, maintenance, and upkeep of public areas, such as parks, beaches, sidewalks, street medians, and other public and City-maintained areas. This Crew Worker's duties are typically performed as a member of a roving crew. The Urban Beautification Crew Worker I/II typically travels throughout the City performing light maintenance, unskilled landscaping, and trash/debris pick-up in a variety of public areas and homeless encampments.
Work hours vary depending upon the time of the year and may include weekends, afternoons, nights and/or holidays.
Incumbents may be required to work stand-by on a rotational basis and report to work on a callback basis as needed within a designated time frame. Standby assignment is at the discretion of the Division Manager.
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate takes pride in keeping parks, beaches, sidewalks and surrounding areas in the City clean and accessible to the public. This person works well with a team and is self-motivated to get the work done. The selected candidate will be courteous and professional when interacting with the public. The ideal candidate will have enthusiasm for the work performed and the mission of the Urban Beautification Team.
Currently, there are two full-time positions available.
Position Qualifications
Urban Beautification Crew Worker I: A combination of education, training, and/or experience equivalent to six months working in a related maintenance or groundskeeping position.
Urban Beautification Crew Worker II: A combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to one year of experience comparable to a Urban Beautification Crew Worker I in the City of Ventura (18 months related experience).
License: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California driver license with an acceptable driving record.

Salary: $17.74 - $25.81 Hourly DOQ
