Performs various semi-skilled and skilled mechanical and electrical/instrumentation-related duties involved in the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical devices within the City's reclamation plant facilities and equipment including pumps, motors, generators, control equipment, variable frequency drives, motor control centers, electrical service systems, chemical equipment, hydraulic controls, compressors, conveyors, diesel and gas engines, piping, all safety equipment, and related equipment; inspects water reclamation systems plant and equipment to locate needed repairs and required maintenance; reports findings and suggests repairs and maintenance to supervisor.  Knowledge of operations, services, and activities of a water reclamation plant maintenance and repair program. Ability to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on assigned equipment.  Troubleshoot and accurately diagnose mechanical and electrical repair needs

Requirements: equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized course work or training in the installation, maintenance, and repair of reclamation plant facilities and equipment.  Two years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of water reclamation systems, including electrical/instrumentation equipment, comparable to a Water Reclamation Plant Mechanic I with the City of Camarillo.  Possession of a Grade II Mechanical Technologist certificate issued by the California Water Environment Association. Possession of a valid California driver's license at a level appropriate to the equipment operated. Possession a Grade I Electrical/Instrumentation Technologist certificate issued by the California Water Environment Association is highly desirable.
