Sonoma City Councilwoman Rachel Hundley is no shrinking violet. She’s fighting back in a very public way after receiving an anonymous email that threatened to expose her wild behavior and scant clothing during a Burning Ban concert.
After receiving the email, which told her to drop out of her race for city council, “I realized there were two paths I could take,” Hundley said. “I could continue with the campaign and ignore it all, or I could acknowledge that this is something that happens to women all over the country, and is something we should talk about.”
She chose the latter.
Hundley has since released a viral video addressing her anonymous attackers and encouraging any women who find themselves in a similar position to stand their ground.
“What was especially disturbing in this era of MeToo was the attempt to slut-shame me for celebrating my body and for my attendance at Burning Man, an internationally renowned arts and culture festival and an event I’ve proudly and openly attended,” Hundley says.
