Glendale’s Assistant Director of Community Development Bradley Calvert has been promoted to Director of the department.
The City of Glendale is welcoming a new fire chief. Timothy Ernst’s appointment was confirmed by the City Council Wednesday. His swearing-in ceremony will take place September 29 at 9:00 a.m.
Dunford took over on May 2 following the resignation of Interim City Attorney Anne Ambrose.
Another senior official from the City of Palm Springs has resigned, leaving staff in search of a replacement. Fire Chief Kevin Nalder stepped down effective immediately, according to the city.

San Clemente City Manager Erik Sund has accepted the same position with Big Bear Lake. His last day serving San Clemente will be on Sept. 9.
Avila joined the city in 1999 as a member of the city’s Parks and Recreation Commission. He was elected to the City Council in 2017 and served as mayor from 2020 to 2021.
Palm Springs City Manager Justin Clifton is stepping down on Sept. 16. Clifton notified the city last week. He called it a difficult decision, but said it was the right one for his family.
The Norco City Council has appointed Lori Sassoon as its next city manager, effective August 29, 2022.
