California Sees Surge in Hate Crimes Against Asian Americans
Between March and June, there were 832 recorded incidents against Asian Americans in the state.
“It is the equivalent of putting a Nazi swastika on the side of a Jewish school,” said Los Angeles City Councilman Paul Koretz.
This is not the first time Beth Jacob has a been a target of extremists.
While our eyes are focused on the Squirrel Hill community and the cause of national unity, a number of recent events also remind us that parts of California remain fertile ground for the kind of hateful, extremist ideology that motivated the Pittsburgh shooter.
