Sacramento could follow the City of Los Angeles in banning homeless encampments within 500 feet of daycares and schools
“Here we are tonight looking to break the promise that was made to voters and reverse course,” said Daniel Conway with Safe and Clean Streets. “And basically tie the city’s leadership to a toxic relationship with the county.”
The city will establish an $18,000 housing fund to be administered by the Sausalito Homeless Union.
Voters in Los Angeles will weigh in on a proposal that would require hotels to make vacant rooms available to homeless people.
The City Council’s vote was 13-2, with District 11 Councilmember Mike Bonin and District 4 Councilmember Nithya Raman voting against the proposal.
