Council Member Katie Valenzuela had signaled she would oppose the measure. She ultimately voted in favor, making the vote unanimous.

“Here we are tonight looking to break the promise that was made to voters and reverse course,” said Daniel Conway with Safe and Clean Streets. “And basically tie the city’s leadership to a toxic relationship with the county.”
The city will establish an $18,000 housing fund to be administered by the Sausalito Homeless Union.
