CA Law Enforcement Accused of Sharing License Plate Data With Anti-Abortion States

Seventy-one law enforcement agencies have been accused of improperly sharing license plate reader data with anti-abortion states, potentially threatening women’s access to health services in California. But at least one of those agencies is now fighting back, accusing civil rights groups of promoting “lawlessness.”

Newsom Proposes Grants for Law Enforcement to Fight Retail Crime

Newsom wants to give $285 million in grant money to law enforcement and district attorneys over the next three years, plus $25 million to small businesses victimized by theft. The money will be part of the proposed budget in January. The governor’s plan would also create a permanent Smash and Grab Enforcement Unit.
