Sacramento-area lawmakers have introduced a bill that would allow removal of homeless encampments at designated “special parklands” like Sacramento’s American River Parkway.

As of Jan. 1, law enforcement agencies across the state are prohibited from using facial recognition technology for a period of three years.

Gov. Gavin Newsom signed legislation Wednesday allowing cities and counties in California to create public banks.

Friday, September 13, was the last day for the Legislature to pass bills and send them to the Governor’s office for signature. The Governor must act on measures by October 13, 2019.
