The Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office has agreed to drop criminal charges against a Cal State L.A. professor and Black Lives Matter leader accused of disrupting L.A. Police Commission hearings and assaulting members of the LAPD.

Three years after he was appointed to the Los Angeles Police Commission, Matt Johnson says it’s time to say goodbye.

Both of the officers had been steadily rising the ranks of the LAPD and appeared to be headed for promising careers.
