The holiday season is a great time to reflect on the individuals who have made our communities welcoming and prosperous places to live. Now, the City of Riverside is doing some reflecting of its own with a new documentary series on the men and women who have contributed to the city through outstanding leadership.
“A Good Life” premiered on Riverside TV last month and its first episode on former Mayor Ron Loveridge is available on YouTube (watch above). The goal “was not just to list their many accomplishments, some of which are a matter of public record, but to engage them in a deeply personal conversation about who or what inspired them to a life of public service and action,” said Tim Roche, who hosts the series.
That’s exactly what viewers will get from Episode 1, which chronicles the 80-year-old Loveridge’s life and career. He spent 32 years in elected office, including 5 terms as mayor of Riverside, and says his mother was the one who first inspired his political activism.
Loveridge’s advice to young people: “find something you love” and get engaged.
