The mission of the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation is to impact

The County Coordinator Grant Program is part of a larger effort by the California Fire Safe Council and our partners to develop local and regional capacity and coordination to encourage collaboration between all fire mitigation and emergency preparedness groups, as well as government agencies and
stakeholders. Each County Coordinator will serve as a conduit of information and resources and provide active coordination and outreach efforts within their county.

This program, which was authorized by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, prioritizes at-risk communities in an area identified as having high or very high wildfire hazard potential, are low-income, or have been impacted by a severe disaster that affects the risk of wildfire. More details on these three priorities can be found in the Notices of Funding Opportunity (NOFOs) below. The program provides funding to communities for two primary purposes:
● Develop and revise Community Wildfire Protection Plans (CWPP).
● Implement projects described in a Community Wildfire Protection Plan that is less than ten years old.
The Community Wildfire Defense Grant Program also helps communities in the wildland urban interface (WUI) implement the three goals of the National Cohesive Wildland Fire Management Strategy.
Restore and Maintain Landscapes: Landscapes across all jurisdictions are resilient to fire-related disturbances, in accordance with management objectives.
Create Fire Adapted Communities: Human populations and infrastructure can better withstand a wildfire without loss of life and property.
Improve Wildfire Response: All jurisdictions participate in making and implementing safe, effective, efficient risk-based wildfire management decisions.

CalFIRE: Wildfire Resilience and Forestry Assistance Grant

The maximum allowable is $3 million. Up to $1 million may be awarded through this grant solicitation for projects addressing Action Item. 1.10. The minimum grant request should be no less than $500,000.
Eligibility: Applicants submitting projects addressing action items 1.11, 1.13 and 1.14 are limited to Resource Conservation Districts (RCD’s) and special districts capable of acting as lead agency for CEQA projects. These applicants must demonstrate they have the capacity to deliver a forestry based technical and financial assistance program to non-industrial forest landowners. Applicants submitting projects addressing action items 1.10 are limited counties, resource conservation districts, special districts, and 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations.

CAL FIRE's Wildfire Resilience team seeks to maintain and enhance the resilience of California’s small non-industrial private forestland owners to promote healthy resilient forests throughout the state by supporting a diverse set of projects designed to interact with landowners. Depending on the grant objectives, grants can prove the following:
- Funding of forest improvement practices including but not limited to tree and brush thinning, tree release, pruning, site preparation and tree planting, follow up work to support tree growth, and/or slash disposal.
