Fullerton city leaders have hit the pause button on a plan to allow a limited number of cannabis businesses.
On Oct 6, the City Council voted 3-2 to introduce a new commercial cannabis ordinance. Unhappy residents and businesses came out in full force against the idea. Many of them were from south Fullerton, where the majority of cannabis businesses would be located.
The reversal was swift. On October 20, the Council voted 4-1 to table the proposal. Jesus Silva voted no.
“The cannabis is here,” he said. “How do we gain some control and manage it? I think this would be the best way to do that.”
