Tracy’s city manager Troy Brown has been let go. The decision to terminate Brown’s contract came early Wednesday morning in a divided vote by the city council. Councilwomen Nancy Young and Rhodesia Ransom voted against the motion.
“It was very unwarranted,” Ransom told the Tracy Press. “His contract was terminated without cause. So if there were cause, then we’d have a different discussion.”
Troy Brown has served as city manager since 2014. His termination became effective at noon Sept. 20.
Fire Chief Randall Bradley has been appointed to the interim city manager spot. Why Assistant City Manager Stephanie Garrabrant-Sierra wasn’t chosen also remains unclear.
