Assistant Analyst (City Clerk)

The City of Thousand Oaks is hiring an Assistant Analyst for the City Clerk department. 

The City Clerk Department is responsible for City Council Agendas, Minutes, Ordinances, Resolutions, election activities, state mandates, and legal publications, and is the official custodian of records.

Primary responsibilities:

• Conduct administrative and/or management studies related to election activities, Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC), boards, and state mandates
• Manage and provide guidance related to Conflict of Interest/Statement of Economic Interests through Automated Filing System software
• Manage board, commission, and committee recruitments with Boards and Commissions Management software
• Assist with election-related activities, including campaign disclosure filings
• Provide assistance to management; prepare and present staff reports and other correspondence
• Conduct surveys, research and statistical analysis on administrative, fiscal, and operational issues

• The ideal candidate should possess:
• 2+ years of administrative and/or program support experience; district and/or city clerk experience is desirable
• 1+ year of research, administrative support or analytical experience, preferably in public administration
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent planning and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with internal and external customers
• Statement of Economic Interest/Campaign Disclosure filing experience
• Bachelor’s degree with major course work in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field
• Electronic Document Management System experience
• A valid Class C California driver’s license
