Salary Range: $23.48 to $29.95 per hour, plus excellent benefits.

The Position: Under general supervision, provides code interpretation and administrative information to the public. Responds to inquiries from the general public over the telephone and in person at the front counter; schedules inspections and may assist with field investigations; answers questions regarding compliance requirements and related information; calculates and collects fees; extracts key paperwork pertinent to codes and inspections; prepares real property requests or releases of liens; conducts technical searches for real property ownership and related plans and permits; maintains accurate records and logs of permits issued; maintains and updates computer data base; and other duties as assigned.
Requires: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade, supplemented by specialized training in the building trades, civil engineering, code compliance, planning, or a related field and two years of increasingly responsible public counter customer service experience.
