Description:
This is an at-will executive leadership classification that functions as an assistant department head, reporting directly to the Department Director. Serves as the Deputy Director of Children and Adult Services and is responsible to develop, implement, and evaluate goals, objectives, policies, and procedures related to the assigned services; provide effective leadership of agency staff; prioritize and allocate resources within the branch; oversee the development of branch budget; and balance fiscal priorities among divisions, projects, and programs. This position will be located in Santa Maria with countywide responsibilities.
Qualifications:
1. Master’s Degree in the social or behavioral sciences or management such as business administration, organizational management, public administration, or another equivalent master’s degree from an accredited college or university; and
2. Five years of responsible experience in the supervision of employees and programs within a public social services agency of which two years must be overseeing child welfare services and four years must be at a management level; and demonstrate the following core competencies: intensity, ethical behavior, influence, commitment, interpersonal skills, resiliency, craftsmanship.
