Deputy Director of Development Services – Economic Development
City of Murrieta, CA
Located just north of San Diego County, the City of Murrieta is home to approximately 114,000 residents. The community is known for being family oriented and offering exceptional quality of life amenities. Reporting to the Development Services Director, the Deputy Director is charged with ensuring that the City maintains a business-friendly environment that facilitates growth of businesses and employment for Murrieta residents.
The ideal candidate will be a people-focused visionary and open-minded economic development professional with a notable passion for business retention, expansion, and sustainability. He/she will be an accessible and responsive relationship builder with a strong customer orientation. Extensive project experience and a sophisticated understanding of the development process will be expected. A proven track record of designing and implementing innovative business retention initiatives will be considered favorably. Supervisory experience is desirable, but not required. Competitive candidates will bring at least five (5) years of progressively responsible economic development, community development or redevelopment experience, service in a local government setting, and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
